The Bible says to, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
There are over 8 billion people in the world today. Some have never even heard of Jesus Christ before. Many have never heard a clear presentation of the gospel. The vast majority are lost without Christ and without hope.
How can we reach them?
Cargo ships.
95% of the world's trade is done by way of the sea.
Approximately 1.89 million seafarers serve on the world merchant fleet today.
With English being the trade language, we have the opportunity to reach these men and women with the gospel.
Onboard these massive vessels are people. Precious cargo. Precious souls in need of truth.
The potential of reaching the world with the gospel is so open for us right here in our country. Lower Lights Ministries has been able to reach over 60 different countries through personal conversations, handing out gospel tracts, and passing out Bibles onboard these cargo ships. With approximately 195 different countries in the world, we are able to reach over 30% of these nations in Mobile, Alabama.
This unique opportunity to minister the gospel to these merchant sailors from all over the world gives a "home court advantage." We are able to minister to countries that are considered hard to reach with the gospel, such as Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.
This port ministry is where the mission field comes to us. With over a hundred nationalities represented in the maritime industry, we can reach the world with the gospel right from our front door.
We are excited about this opportunity and we're looking forward to reaching even more nations with the gospel.
Please pray for Lower Lights Ministries as we shine the light of the gospel across the globe and strive to reach the world, one ship at a time.
