Salvation
1. All are sinners and need to repent
- Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
- II Corinthians 7:10, “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation…”
2. God requires a price for sin
- Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death…”
- Revelation 20:14, “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire…”
3. The Lord Jesus Christ paid that price for us
- Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
- Romans 6:23, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
- 1 Peter 3:18 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:"
4. You must personally receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour!
- John 1:12, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
- Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
- 1 Corinthians 15:1-6 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep."
